Folau retained for SOO 2

The week that was, the week that was. I’m happy to report there were no rapes, no domestic violence, no normal violence and no one crapped in a hotel room (ala Nate Myles). But Sydney Rooster’s rake Jake Friend did get pinched for possessing a couple valium pills. In his company was serial bad boy Todd Carney, The Rooster’s are supporting Jake as the pills were for tattoo related pain.

Results in a Nutshell :

Eels quelled the Melbourne Storm 24 to 10

Tigers pipped the Doggies at the post 19 – 12

Panthers overpowered the Knights 28 to 10

Sharks cooked the chooks 42 to 18

Warriors heartbroken by the Dragons 22 to 20

Raiders got up and knocked over the Titans 28 to 24

Broncos young guns blasted the Sea Eagles from the sky 22 to 6

Rabbits out ran the Cowboys 32 to 4

Game of the week was massive. The Rabbits coming off a good win against the Panthers the weekend before. Cowboys have only had three wins this season but boast National Reps and Origin reps such as Willie Mason, Jonathan Thurston, Matt Bowen, Matt Scott, Luke O’Donnell the list goes on. Cowboys made the 1st mistake of the game and the rabbits never looked back. Isaac Luke ran the show from dummy half linking up with the under-rated halves combination of John Sutton and Chris Sandow, Rhys Wesser chiming in from fullback. Beau Champion grabbed a double and outplayed his Origin opposite Willy Tonga, He should be pairing up with Matt Cooper for NSW in SOO 2. Asotasi, Pettybourne, Taylor and Burgess made metres up the middle all game and defended stoutly all game. Close to a shut out (would of been first since 1999). Cowboys Ashley Graham scored 5 from the end to stop this. Highlight of the game was Luke putting some solid shots on JT (that’s how you do it NSWer’s – Isaac you may of earned yourself a holiday this weekend!!).

Who’s Hot (Playing wise) :

Burgess, Luke, Sandow, Sutton RABBITS

Tuquiri -  TIGERS

Matulino – WARRIORS

Coote – PANTHERS

Soward – DRAGONS

Who’s Not

The Warriors (well they weren’t this weekend – maybe next)

Hayne – EELS

Origin Talk

Maroons really dominated the 1st SOO after a sluggish start, NSW muscled up and tried to played a QLD game and it didn’t pay off. They need to play to their strengths a fast paced game with their fleet footed backs to the fore and a need to bring back their quicker forwards in scooting . In should come Champion, Hoffman, Ryles, Merrit, Sutton, Hindmarsh to name a few. They need to chance their arm ab-it and make less conservative selections as they are nearly at wits end (5 series lost in a row).  They will be with out Hayne after the stoush on Friday with Slater (who should also be out) i would bring in young Josh Dugan from the Raiders. Tuquiri needs to be picked for the Maroons and shifting Darius Boyd to the back. Good to see Folau picked I’m surprised that the Palestinians didn’t make a bid on Israel, His skills at defusing bombs would make any terrorist proud (or a suicide bombing).

IN LEAGUE

The calm before the storm, Will Hayne and Slater both miss SOO 2???
